never say never.

we went and saw this today.
we were fans before, but now we love j.b. even more.
seriously. the kid is great.
he sold out madison square garden. in twenty-two minutes. as a sixteen year old.
it was slightly cheesy, but mostly awesome.
i'm just proud to say we bought 'my world 2.0' last september.
yep. that's all. stay nice, kids.

hey guys, it's friday!

so a few days ago, i made the mister some homemade snickerdoodles. we were in heaven. and then, because we are geniuses, or maybe just copycats, we made this glorious creation:

awesome! okay. and because i have been in a cooking mood lately, we are attempting to make our own pasta for dinner. without a pasta machine. that's right, hand cut pasta, baby. this will be good haha. so make sure to check back for that little adventure.

ever since i saw the silverware that my sister-in-law lizanne gave to my mother-in-law for christmas, i have really been wanting an alphabet metal stamp set. so basically instead of writing this post, for the last fifteen minutes i've been looking at sets on amazon. guys... i really need one. really. seriously.

okay okay to make this more interesting, my friend corina had a pretty neat post yesterday. real life up. awesome! it blew my mind away. read more about it here

and the last thing on my a.d.d. brain- i was tagged in that blogging handwriting game. normally i don't play internet games like this, but i thought this one was kind of fun :)

1. what’s your name / blogger name?
2. what’s your blogs URL?
3. write “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”.
4. favorite quote?
5. favorite song?
6. favorite band/singers?
7. anything else you want to say?
8. tag three bloggers to participate.

ha. obviously i can read and follow directions real well, number eight. i guess my third blogger is anybody who wants to participate...? i tagged kara just so she'll blog haha. and eliesa cause she has the cutest blog ever.

p.s. i like turtles. ha. gets me everytime. have an awesome weekend!

can it be summer now?

i have absolutely nothing against winter. i just miss summer. and alaska. and summer in alaska. i think michael and i are quite spoiled when it comes to the fact that we were raised in the last frontier. there's something different about being from alaska, something magical.

the end of april along the seward highway. spring is a little late up north...

sand lake:)

my sissy and me, fishing. obviously. please excuse my boy hair.

that cute husband of mine, the week before we were married

i miss alaska mountains the most. nothing compares.

utah, hats, and soup!

first things first, i believe a huge congratulations goes out to my oh so very favorite sarah collette! she became a  first time mom to not one but two boys on wednesday! i can't wait to meet weston and carter:) we were able to meet up with her (and a few other high school best friends) last monday while she was still pregnant. she is such an amazing lady!

we went to utah last weekend and had a blast. going to school at byu and living in utah had so many opportunities that i never took advantage of. i'm sad that i'm not there anymore. but anyway. we got a bunch of friends from alaska together and we saw the byu international folk dance team. they were amazing! and i may be a bit biased because my good friends cody and emily are on the team. if you are in provo i highly recommend seeing them perform.

oh and earlier that day we ate at j dawgs for lunch. mmm. so amazing. i wish we lived closer. seriously. so. freaking. good. so. good. for. reals. seriously.

we got to visit family, it's so fun to have them living only a few hours away!

i made jack jack an aang hat. he absolutely loves avatar the last airbender. so as it was just so happening, i was browsing etsy and came across this hat. "that's easy enough to make." i thought, plus i could do it for cheaper than nineteen dollars. so this is the final result.

cool huh? i'm trying to crochet little cotton preemie caps for weston and carter at the moment (...surprise, sarah!) and it is proving to be a little harder than i thought to find a pattern that actually works. but it's fun:) and i have even been doing it right because supposedly preemie's heads are the size of an orange, so i got an orange to try the hat on after i'm done. haha look at me go.

no but seriously. i have a feeling awesome things are going to happen, so in the future, don't forget to look at us go.

oh p.s. blog buddy ahlin, i tried that soup recipe, and it was a huge hit with not only the husband but the brother. thanks:) (and to everybody else, it's delicious. we added crumbled tortilla chips, cheese, and sour cream. it was heavenly.)

happy sunday!

we are alive! isn't that the best reason ever to be happy? i was thinking about that earlier today. i'm happy to be alive. seriously kids. to be alive is a great thing. sure, life has its ups and downs. but, we learn from these hard times. elder holland once said "if for a while the harder you try the harder it gets--take heart. so it has been with the best people that have ever lived."
that being said, here are some reasons why we are oh so very happy.

1. mikie earned four As on the four tests that he took within a week. seriously folks, he's smart. i just had to brag.
2. we have the best roommates ever... each other:) haha
3. hanging out with our favorite alaskans, which is something that hasn't happened for quite some time.
4. one week from now we won't be in rexburg. that's a good reason to make us happy:)
5. cinnamon toast crunch. enough said.
6. when byu wins at anything against the u of u. like basketball, for instance.
7. watching the tron and then rewatching tron 2. it makes so much more sense now. and we love it when things make sense.
8. celebrating six months of marriage (last week). half a year has flown by, which blows my mind, but it has been great.
9. when it's still not dark after five o'clock and we can see the sunset. we definitely are not in alaska anymore.

we hope you all have an excellent upcoming week:)

to live will be a great adventure- peter pan
