we hit up the 4th of july parade and got insanely sunburned.
i didn't get very many good pictures of the parade cause it was crazy bright outside, but uhhh i did get this nice picture of my chaco tan line feet.
then we hit up the demolition derby a few days after that. it. was. fantastic. insanely fun. also insanely redneck maybe? but really, what's not to like about grown-up bumper cars?
yesterday our refrigerator died in the middle of the night. i went to make a smoothie for breakfast and when i reached into the freezer everything was completely melted mush. talk about a heart attack. the freezer and fridge were blowing hot air at everything. maybe it wouldn't have been as frustrating, had we not gone to sam's club a few days before to stock up on frozen foods. uuuggh. that was like $100+ of food! we love living in this townhouse, but everything is about ten years old and seems to be breaking all at once. (the washer, microwave, and now fridge.) i feel like such a dummy always having to call the landlord to fix things.
so there we were just complete grumps and we decided to just get out of our place and go do something. we ended up getting snow cones and sitting outside of ye olde tabernacle, listening to live jazz. it was wonderfully relaxing.
then we went to smith park to kick the soccer ball around. the sun was setting and i felt at complete peace.
sure, our refrigerator broke but we have a Father in Heaven that loves us. these minor setbacks won't ruin us for life. mikie and i are completely healthy. we have a roof over our head, a car to drive, and clothes to wear. we have so much going for us that i sometimes it takes a little bad luck to remind us how truly blessed we are.
oh and i watched this last night. icing on the cake. i want to be best friends with emma watson.
