sooo today i read this list, and i could totally relate to almost all of it. i was a teenager of the millennium, but i was definitely a child of the 90s. (fun fact, my high school graduating class was the last to have any kids born in the 80s. i was not one of them.) so after reading that list, this song just started playing in my head. it goes like this:
ahhh what a decade. it blows my mind when i think of how there are high schoolers now that don't remember 9/11. that high school seniors weren't even in high school when i graduated. that all these kids don't know half of the things i'm talking about on my list of nostalgia. ahh. welp. too bad for them. so without further ado, my list of what i think of when i think 90s:
- tamagotchi pets. i had one. i threw it away because it ran out of batteries. how was i supposed to know that you can just BUY new batteries!?
- lisa frank. those coveted fuzzy posters... you never had to worry about coloring outside of the lines!!
- pogs. how the heck did you play pogs? i don't know, i just thought they were nice and cool and sometimes even shiny.
- ugly (aka awesome) floral dresses. oh and matching pant and shirt sets, with the same geometric design on them.
- unwillingly watching buffy every friday night and being too scared to leave the room by myself. (this is probably the difference between being the youngest child and the oldest child while growing up in this great decade. i can bet you if i were my age and the oldest child, i would not have been watching that show.)
- the mighty ducks, I and II. iceland is always so scary!
- please let this be a normal field trip. with the frizz? no way!
- being scared of cabbage patch dolls because they ate your hair and other stuff.
- sky dancers. oh yes. i had these.
- not knowing how to use the dvd player. oh and how there were machines disguised as cars that sit on your end table or coffee table thatspecifically rewound vhs's. (vhs'?) oh and while we're at it, recording movies off of tv.
- these things. i don't know if these were from the 90s but i definitely had one then.
- tinkerbell cosmetics brush-on peel-off nail polish. i asked a co-worker who is around my age if she remembered that. she said no. i was sad for her incomplete childhood.
- going to roller-rinks and hearing this song a million times
i could go on and on and on for days. i'm sure we could all go on for days and days, and for that very reason, what are some of your favorite 90s memories?

Ah the 90s. I was 5 when they started so I remember a lot of great things like Jinco jeans, Fox 4 Kids club (Duck Tales, Gummi Bears, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, and Tale Spin), Captain Planet, Backstreet Boys, scrunchies for your hair or to bunch up your shirt on the side, and beanie babies of course.
Oh yeah, the Weggeland's moved two houses down on my street in 1990 and my life was never the same. :)
Oh man
The constant argument of who was better Backstreet or Nsync.
Furbies.
Polly Pockets
American Girl dolls big break
Having Disney movie shirts
Good times.
This post made me sooooooo happy. I'm 90% sure that there is still a sky dancer stuck on the roof of the house I lived in as a kid. I hope it stays there for a long time.
